Last week’s torrential rainfall in northeast India has caused flooding and landslides in the mountainous state of Sikkim, killing 33 people and displacing over a million. The national crisis response team is now relocating people in affected areas to higher ground by boats and helicopters, where they will be housed in 100 emergency shelters.
