For the most part, airport security checkpoints are a necessary evil. But when surveillance cameras showed airport officials patting down babies and children, it raised more than a few eyebrows. In response, TSA procedures now include instructions to avoid pat-downs on young children as much as possible, using basic screenings until there is legitimate cause for concern.
