Anselm’s ontological argument for the existence of God says that a perfect being must exist because if we can imagine a perfect being, one facet of its perfection must be existence, therefore it must necessarily exist. Anselm’s contemporary Gaunilo of Marmoutiers took issue with Anselm’s argument, countering that the same logic could be applied to prove that a perfect island exists, which it does not. Except that Gaunilo of Marmoutiers was apparently not aware of Potcake Island, because it is perfect and it does exist.
So, here’s how it works. Potcakes are a breed of dog common to Providenciales, Turks and Caicos in the Atlantic that the Potcake Place takes in. They need help socializing the pups, and that’s where you come in. You can swing by, pick up a puppy, and head out to the beach with your new best friend. Oh, and if you want to keep your new best friend around forever, so much the better. These dogs are all up for adoption and they’re free of charge (although a donation is definitely the right move.)
So, how about it? You interested in heading to the beach, working on your tan, catching up on a good book with your new doggo pal? The Turks and Caicos Islands are lovely this time of year. Well, they’re lovely every time of year. Because they’re truly the perfect island.
