A 57-nation bloc of Muslim nations has set up its own human rights commission. The Organization of the Islamic Conference will be headquartered in Saudi Arabia. The group has already stirred controversy by issuing several “defamation of religion” resolutions that critics charge attempt to put Islam above criticism. Only 14 of the OIC’s member countries are deemed as electoral democracies.
