On Charles Darwin’s 200th birthday, a new Zogby poll shows that the majority of Americans favor teaching biological evidence both for and against evolutionary theory. 76 percent of respondents said they believe both sides of the issue should be presented in schools. According to the Discovery Institute’s Dr. John West, this signals a shift in public opinion toward Darwinism. “There appears to be a public backlash against the strong-arm tactics being employed by many Darwinists to intimidate scientists, teachers, and students who want to raise criticisms of Darwin’s theory,” said West.
