BBC radio presenter Jeremy Vine said in a recent interview with Reform Magazine it has become socially unacceptable to be a Christian in the United Kingdom. Vine, who is a Christian, said that he is afraid to speak openly about his beliefs because he feels the climate in Britain has become openly hostile toward religion. “Once I put my cards on the table about my faith in discussions, it becomes problematic,” Vine said. “Arguably, the parameters of what you might call ‘right thinking’ are probably closing. Sadly, along with that has come the fact that it’s almost socially unacceptable to say you believe in God.”
