A new study shows that upwards of 90 percent of U.S. adults pray. More than half say they pray more than once a day. The study showed that 28 percent of prayers were prayers of petition, another 28 percent were both petition and praise, while 22 percent said their prayers were just thanking God. The study analyzed 683 prayers written in a prayer book at Johns Hopkins University from 1999 to 2005.
