The Gospel Coalition recently released a new roundtable video in which Tim Keller (vice president of TGC), Russell Moore (president of the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission) and Kevin DeYoung (senior pastor at Christ Covenant Church in Matthews, North Carolina) sit down to talk about the changing landscape of religious liberty in the U.S.
The trio’s discussion will help equip pastors in the future. They discuss things like what pastors have to understand about the crisis of religious liberty, and how to have careful conversations with non-Christians.
“Most of the problems come with people who just don’t get religious motivation,” Moore said, about religious liberty. “So they assume if we apply pressure, cultural pressure, political pressure or legal pressure, we’ll get you where you’re going to be anyway, which is in a more secular progressive direction. So part of it is just explaining to your secular neighbors what it means to be motivated by the fear of the Lord, what it means to be people who really do believe that you’re going to give an account before the judgement seat of Christ.”
