Customers in a Portland, Ore., mall had to huddle in small groups, watching events unfold on mall television screens in a shooting that left one of at least three people dead—including the shooter—and one 15-year-old girl in serious condition on Tuesday night. Witnesses say the gunman wore a hockey mask and wielded an assault rifle, jogging around the central Christmas display, firing at random. When police arrived, all customers had to be ushered out with their hands up, since the gunman remained at large. Gov.
