Customers in a Portland, Ore., mall had to huddle in small groups, watching events unfold on mall television screens in a shooting that left one of at least three people dead—including the shooter—and one 15-year-old girl in serious condition on Tuesday night. Witnesses say the gunman wore a hockey mask and wielded an assault rifle, jogging around the central Christmas display, firing at random.
