There’s been a major shift in how Americans view religious organizations and major tech companies.
Pew recently released the findings of a new study that found that just 50 percent Americans view tech companies as having a largely positive impact. That’s a pretty dramatic fall in recent years. As recently as 2015, 71 percent of Americans viewed them as making a positive impact, but thanks to the proliferation of actual fake news and some serious privacy scandals, tech companies are being viewed much less favorably.
In fact, now, as Christianity Today notes, Americans view churches and religious organizations more favorably than tech companies for the first time in nearly a decade with 52 percent believing they have a positive impact.
Churches and religious organizations are now viewed more favorably than tech companies, colleges, labor unions, financial institutions and the national news media, which came in last.
