The International AIDS Conference meets every year to discuss the good, the bad and the ugly in mankind’s devastating war on the disease. While it’s generally grim business, this year’s conference was brighter than most, which scientists showing plenty of optimism about the near future of treating and even curing AIDS. Says, Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, “There is no excuse scientifically to say we cannot do it.
