Well, that’s one way to solve a bullying problem. 12-year-old Vanessa VanDyke has dealt with some bullying at Orlando’s Faith Christian Academy over her natural hair. The administration’s solution to this was, evidently, to threaten to get rid of her. “There have been bullies in the school,” Vanessa’s mother Sabrina told local news. “There have been people teasing her about her hair, and it seems to me that they’re blaming her.” Vanessa has had the same hair style for months but, after officials were alerted to the bullying, they decided her hair was a “distraction” and gave her an ultimatum: cut it or be expelled. Vanessa is opting for the latter, saying of her hair, “It says that I’m unique. First of all, it’s puffy and I like it that way. I know people will tease me about it because it’s not straight.
