Report: At Least 50 People Have Been Killed in Yemen By Suicide Bombings

According to reports coming out of Yemen, at least 50 people have been killed in a pair of suicide bombings that the AP says “bore the hallmarks of al-Qaida.” The first blast targeted a gathering of supporters of a Shia rebel group who were meeting at a large, open square in the capital city of Sanaa. The group had taken over the capital last month. A photojournalist for AFP reported that several children were among those killed in the attack. In a separate attack in the Hadramawt region, a suicide bomber killed dozens more by detonating a car bomb at a security checkpoint.
