North Korea Ups the Ante

Despite massive sanctions, North Korea is going to keep being its usual self and go ahead with nuclear tests and long-range rocket plans that will, it says, be part of its ongoing saber-rattling match with the United States. Calling the U.S. “the sworn enemy of the Korean people” and keeping with their long, proud tradition of ignoring other countries, Kim Jong Un expressed outrage at the UN’s condemnation of its missiles and swore to push forward with its nuclear program. “I don’t believe they have the capability, the intention or the will to invade or destroy the United States,” said Daniel Pinkston, senior analyst for the International Crisis Group covering Northeast Asia. “They wish to deter interference from the U.S. or any outside powers” …
