Here we go again. For the last week or so, a terrifying clown monster has been terrorizing Wasco and several neighboring California towns, all while documenting his exploits on Instagram. The nightmarish clown man told a local newspaper in an anonymous interview that the stunt—that basically involves wandering the streets dressed as a horrifying clown creature—is part of an ongoing performance “art” piece. Thanks to his little art project, jerk copycats are popping up in other towns—except they’re wielding weapons and chasing children. Though at least one arrest has been made in Bakersfield, where a copycat clown harassed a kid, a police officer in Wasco told the local media, “I am unaware of any crimes committed by clowns.” Translation: Nightmare clown dude is still out there, and the police are powerless to stop him.
