New Breakthrough in the Search for an HIV Vaccine

Researchers at the University of Oregon have released new findings that show a promising breakthrough in the fight against HIV. After infecting 16 monkeys with a virus similar to (but even more deadly than) HIV, the doctors used a specially modified version of another virus to spread and spur the body’s immune system. In nine of the 16 monkeys, the original HIV-like virus was completely cleared from their systems.
