Mexican Elections Reinstate Old Party Back to Power

Enrique Pena Nieto of Mexico’s Institutional Revolutionary Party carried the election on Sunday with 38% of the vote, reinstating a government party that had ruled Mexico for 71 years, but had been voted out in 2000. The Institutional Revolutionary Party has been accused of ruling Mexico through subterfuge and corruption, but Pena Nieto assured Mexico that things would be different. “There is no return to the past,” said the 45-year-old. “You have given our party a second chance and we will deliver results.” …
