Massive, Mountaintop Jesus Statue Unveiled in Syria

A 128-foot tall statue of Jesus—taller than the famous Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro—has been erected in war-torn Syria. According to the Moscow Spiritual Academy, who helped to build the statue named “I Have Come to Save the World,” the massive structure (which can been seen from Lebanon, Jordan, Palestine and Israel) “is designed to bring peace, mutual understanding, and hope for common salvation to a region engulfed in the flames of war.” During the three days it took to install the structure, local military factions suspended their fighting so the statue could be erected in peace …
