Let the $60 Million High School Football Stadium Wash Over You

As everyone knows, Texas takes their football very seriously. And after three years and $60 million, the residents of Allen, Texas are ready to prove just how seriously, by opening their new high school football stadium. The stadium features 18,000 seats, two luxury suites, an NFL-quality press box, and a 3,400-square-foot HD video scoreboard. It’s doing significantly better than the Allen school district, which had to lay off 44 teaching positions over the past school year. The stadium construction budget didn’t come out of the school district budget, and voters had approved a measure to offset state education cuts by raising property taxes.
