Everyone On Air Canada Flight Is a Hero

People are often told that being a hero is just being in the right place at the right time. But everyone on this Air Canada flight became a hero because they sort of had nothing better to do. A Boeing 777 flight en route to Sydney was asked by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority to extend its 14-hour-trip a little longer to see if they couldn’t find a missing yacht being tossed about in the ocean with a broken mast, a broken motor, and a terrified Australian named Glenn Ey who had run out of gas. The flight dropped from 37,000 feet to 4,000 feet, and the captain asked everyone on board to look out their windows and see if they could find him. With a search party of about 270 people, it didn’t take long before Ey was found, police were alerted as to his whereabouts, and everyone went home a hero.
