Lego is pulling their “Jabba’s Palace” kit (that’s part of the Star Wars collection), after Muslim critics claimed its resemblance to a Turkish mosque is offensive. A spokesperson for Austria’s Turkish Cultural Association, didn’t appear to be all that familiar with the source materiel, and said that “the game … depicts Muslims as terrorists” saying that the villain is shown as a “terrorist who likes to smoke hookah and have his victims killed”. Representatives from Lego and the Cultural Association met last week to discuss the toy in question.
