Confederate Flag at South Carolina Capitol Will Stay Up for Time Being

South Carolina legislators decided to allow the debate over whether or not a Confederate flag should continue to fly at the State House to happen later this summer. The 103-10 vote means that lawmakers can introduce new legislation—past the normal deadline at the end of June—to have the location of the flag moved. The vote comes amid widespread calls for the flag to be taken down—including from Gov.
