Bradley Manning Apologizes for Leaking Documents

At a sentencing hearing this week, former Army intelligence analyst Bradley Manning apologized for leaking a huge collection of documents to the site Wikileaks. The classified data contained information about Army operations—some of which resulted in the death of civilians. The 25-year-old, who was convicted under the Espionage Act, could be sentenced to up to 90 years in prison for leaking the nearly 700,000 documents. Taking the stand, he said, “I want to start off with an apology. I am sorry that my actions hurt people. I am sorry that I hurt the United States … I am sorry for unintended consequence of my actions. When I made these decisions, I believed I was going to help people, not hurt people” …
