Last night, 60 Minutes aired an interview between Charlie Rose and the trio of Bill and Melinda Gates and Warren Buffet, three of the riches individuals in the world. Other than being multi-billionaires, they share something else in common: they’ve committed to giving away almost their entire fortunes. Since they first launched The Giving Pledge—which requires a commitment to give away a large portion of personal wealth—115 billionaires have said they too will donate huge amounts of their earnings to philanthropic and humanitarian causes, with the total amount pledged currently adding up to more than half of a billion dollars.
Rose also speaks with other club-members including Spanx founder Sara Blakely, AOL co-founder Steve Case, entrepreneur Jeffrey Skoll and others about what made them want to take the pledge.
