Looking for a new job? Maybe one that involves very, very little stress and a complete disconnection from the outside world? Local officials and church leaders in the Austrian town of Saalfelden may have just the gig for you. The qualifications are a “Christian outlook” and “a self-sufficient person who is at peace with their self, and willing to talk to people, but not to impose.” They want someone to basically just live the cave house (it’s built into the mountain itself), and just sort of hang out.
Also, the slightly creepy parish is not heated, has no running water , internet or electricity, because basically the job is just about praying and talking to pilgrims who wander up the mountain.
There’s no pay involved, but it does sound pretty chill.
