This 911 Call About a Terrifying House Cat Is a Thing of Beauty

What, honestly, would you do? If you had somehow perturbed your “very large” Himalayan house cat to the point where you felt unsafe, so you gathered your entire family and your dog into the bedroom and called 911? Would you be able to make your predicament sound any more sensible than Lee Palmer, whose 911 call is one of the most entertaining things you’re likely to hear this week. The fact that this man can tell a 911 dispatcher “[The cat] trying to attack us—he’s very, very, very, very hostile. He’s at our door; he’s charging us” without spontaneously combusting—and the fact that this dispatcher retains her professional calm the entire time—is a credit to both of them. It’s worth listening all the way through, if only to hear Mr. Palmer say “Tell the police to be careful!” Listen to the whole call here
