Bioethicists Advocate “After-Birth Abortions”

A pair of British scientists have advocated for "post-birth abortions," which is just what it sounds like: terminating a baby after he or she is born. Pro-life proponents have loudly decried the paper advocating for the procedure, and there hasn’t yet been a public response from pro-choice groups, likely because "post-birth abortion" is literally the stupidest, most evil thing ever …

Two Oxford bioethicists caused an outcry amongpro-lifers when they argued that “after-birth abortion” — killing anewborn baby — is morally sound and should be made legal.


Alberto Giubilini from the University of Milan and Francesca Minerva from Melbourne University wrote in the Journal of Medical Ethics that fetuses and newborns “do not have the same moral status as actual persons.”


The pair argue say thatkilling a baby should be “permissible in all cases where abortion is,including cases where the newborn is not disabled,” adding that “thefact that both are potential persons is morally irrelevant.”
