New Study Finds Ohio Major Hub for Human Trafficking

According to a new report released Wednesday by the Trafficking in Persons Study Commission, about 1,000 American-born children are forced into labor and sex trafficking each year—in Ohio. The report also states that about 800 immigrants are sexually exploited and pushed into sweatshop-type jobs in the state. Ohio’s weak human trafficking laws, demand for cheap labor and proximity to the Canadian border are all factors in this illegal activity …
