176 Are Still Missing After Washington Landslide

At least 14 people are dead, and 176 are missing following a sudden landslide that swept through a Washington community this weekend. Rescuers are still searching through the rubble in Oso where a month of heavy rains triggered the landslide on Saturday. Though police expect the number of missing to drop “dramatically” as more of the missing are identified, Snohomish County Emergency Management Director John Pennington told reporters that the hopes of finding more survivors alive in the landslide’s aftermath is becoming grim: “I believe it’s fair to say that most of us in these communities believe that we will not find any individuals alive. I am a man of faith, and I believe in miracles,” but “we are moving towards a recovery operation.” Washington Gov.
