‘Watchmen’ Leads the Way in This Year’s Emmy Nominees

There’s more than one reason it’ll be an unusual year at the Emmys. In addition to — well, everything — Emmy favorites like Game of Thrones and Veep have moved onto greener pastures, clearing the way for newer shows to make some award show waves. The Mandalorian, Insecure and Schitt’s Creek all got a lot of attention this year. Ozark and Succession got 18 nominations each while The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel got 20 nominations, cleaning up the comedy genre. But Watchmen which led the way with the most nominations of any series — 26!

The show will air in September, in some form or another, hosted by Jimmy Fallon.
