It’s like the story of Jim Halpert, except there’s no Pam, a smidge more blood and a lot more war-weary and shellshocked staring. So it’s nothing like the story of Jim Halpert.
In August, Amazon will release the first season of its new spy thriller series Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, starring John Krasinski in the titular role. Krasinski’s a good fit for the part on paper: Jack Ryan cuts an imposing figure in the Clancy novels, and Krasinski brings a good touch of Americana handsomeness and military experience (sort of, he was in Michael Bay’s 2016 Benghazi flick 13 Hours).
The new series looks like it will dive into Jack Ryan’s origin story, charting his journey from government lackey to CIA super-agent, the guy who saves the President and throws his body in front of the U.S.A.
Look for the show to drop in August.
