We have to confess something: We are huge suckers for talking robots in movies, especially cartoon movies. Big Hero 6 is under-appreciated, and we’re pretty sure Robots made us laugh once. Wall-E, of course, remains a classic. But now we have a new robot to fall for, and we will, so hard. John Krasinski is voicing a robot in the new Netflix movie Next Gen.
Krasinski aside, the voice cast for this one is loaded, with Constance Wu, Jason Sudeikis, Michael Pena and David Cross all taking turns behind the mic. The movie’s about a rebellious girl who stumbles into a friendship with a secret robot and bands with him to stop an evil government robot attack. Look, as far as kids’ movies go, it seems like you can do much, much worse than this.
Next Gen was scooped up by Netflix, so you’ll be able to stream it between episodes of The Office on Sept. 7.
