Kids these days are always trying to be just like what they see on TV. They want to take naps at work like Don Draper. They want to be president like Frank Underwood. They, evidently, want to throw pizzas on top of houses, like Walter White. That last one might seem odd, but it’s sort of becoming a thing in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where a rash of Breaking Bad fans have made the pilgrimage to the White residence to hurtle a full pizza on to the roof. Oh brother. Don’t throw pizzas on to the roof, you dorks. Eat the pizza. Why on earth would you throw away a perfectly good pizza?
In any case, the house belongs to a real couple, and in the latest episode of the Better Call Saul podcast, Vince Gilligan stood up for them. “The lady who lives in that house—she and her husband—are the two nicest people in the world and they deserve to be treated well …There is nothing funny or original or cool about throwing pizza on this woman’s roof.” There you have, Breaking Bad-heads. Next time you get a pizza in Albuquerque, just eat it yourself.
