Video Games: The Cause Of and Solution To Our Economic Woes

Into all this talk about the fiscal cliff and the stock markets comes the news that Halo 4 raked in $220 million dollars in 24 hours, not only beating out Avengers for this year’s biggest entertainment release, but beating out history’s biggest box office launch, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows II. That is a crazy statistic that obviously has no huge bearing on rescuing America’s economy, but now that Amazon has announced that today’s release of Call of Duty: Black Ops II has broke pre-sales records, it’s time to start wondering if video games might be able to single-handedly get the economy going again.
