Former President George W. Bush was recently a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and the prolonged interview was a pretty good-humored exchange about Saturday Night Live impressions, his high-profile faux pas and even Dick Cheney’s infamous hunting accident. But one of the more interesting moments was when Kimmel half-jokingly asked him if he ever went through the “secret files—the U.F.O. documents.”
Bush said that his own children asked him the same question, and he gave them the same answer: “I’m not telling you nothing.” Though the interview was lighthearted, it was interesting that Bush didn’t immediately deny the existence of UFO secrets, and instead, seemed to essentially shut down the line of questioning.
Kimmel seems fascinated with government secrets: Back in 2015, when Pres. Obama was a guest on the show, he asked him the exact same thing. Kimmel said if he were president, the moment that he was inaugurated, “I would immediately race to wherever they have the files about Area 51 and the UFOs, and I’d go through everything to find out what happened. Did you do that?”
Obama’s answer: “I can’t reveal anything.”
