Hank Williams is the country music star against whom all other country music stars must be measured, a superstar who wrote the entire book on the genre and did it all in the span of about four years—from his rocket to fame as a 25-year-old to his drug and alcohol-fueled death at 29. It’s the sort of story music biopics are made for, and Tom Hiddleston—still mostly known as The Avengers‘ Loki to Americans—has been picked for the role. It’s a good fit, as Hiddleston bears more than a passing resemblance to Williams (we’ll have to see about the American accent) …
