The Devil’s Work: The Plain White T’s Song ‘Hey There Delilah’ Is Becoming a TV Show

Sometimes we pray for the culture. This morning we had to throw up a couple extra shouts to heaven after hearing that the Plain White T’s 2006 hit song “Hey There Delilah” is being adapted into a TV series. Heaven help us. (h/t The Hollywood Reporter)

Back in the day, “Hey There Delilah” was a huge thing. It spent 35 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 and was featured on shows like Orange Is the New Black, Family Guy and Sesame Street (weird threesome there, but OK). The song’s about a long-distance dalliance between an ingratiating, soppy singer-songwriter and some girl who goes to college in New York City. Many people thought it was romantic back then. Now, most people think it is super, super annoying. Good thing we’re about to see multiple episodes about it.

This is unreal. This is a Simpsons joke in real life. This is like what TV looks like in Satan’s apartment (he doesn’t have a house; he’s not domestic).
