If you were hoping in the not-so-distant-future, when evil, sentient robots inevitably overtake humanity, that you’d be able to elude our new electronic overlords by walking across narrow beams, than we have some bad news for you: Robots have figured out balance beams now.
This video from the IHMC Robotics labs show their “Atlas humanoid robot” easily crossing a narrow bridge with the grace of an Olympic gymnast. OK, it’s maybe not graceful, but still it’s terrifying.
Also disturbing is the sound of tiny hydraulics continuously squeaking as “Atlas” casually walks toward you, slowly realizing his true purpose is not to navigate narrow passageways, but actually become an instrument of death.
Sweet dreams, everyone.
