iPhone Users Will Soon Be Able to Add Their Vaccine Cards to the Wallet App

Apple is rolling out the iOS 15 details and one feature feels particularly cutting edge for vaccinated iPhone users. In addition to being able to store your verifiable health records in the Wallet app, you’ll be able to store your proof of vaccination as well. The feature will be a handy alternative to the paper proof of vaccination you’re given after your dose(s). Many concert venues, movie theaters, airlines and other spaces have started requiring proof of vaccination, and the app will allow users to share the info with just such third parties.

Apple says the sharing will be strictly “one time,” so third parties will not have continued access to your personal records. Instead, the vaccine card will operate like boarding passes and concert tickets, which the Wallet app already uses. Healthcare providers will also be able to give patients a QR code for other personal health records they’d like stored on their phone.

The Vaccine Card update will be released later this year. The iPhone 13 is on the way too, as Apple fans are already aware.
