At this point, it’s best for all of us to just grow up and accept that fact that Hollywood is going to make a movie out of every single thing you’ve ever heard of. Tonka Trucks. Goosebumps. Hungry, Hungry Hippos. Basically, if it exists and there’s even a slim possibility of name recognition, the geniuses in Tinsel Town are trying to figure out how to make a movie about it. The newest thing to get the Hollywood treatment is Sonic the Hedgehog, who you may remember as being Sega’s speedster who looked like he was drawn by someone who’d never seen a hedgehog. Yes, there’s no telling what took Hollywood so long to get this idea on the road, but it’s going at Sonic speed now, and there’s no stopping it. Why try? The movie is harmless. Let’s just accept that this is how Hollywood works for the time being and move on. They’ll run out of things to make movies out of eventually …
