So that ‘Seinfeld’ Reunion Was Kind of ‘Meh’

Last night during the Super Bowl halftime show, audiences finally got a look at the rumored Seinfeldreunion. And, let’s be honest, it was a little disappointing. The 90-second promo for an episode of Jerry’s Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee series features Jerry and George discussing why George didn’t receive an invitation to a Super Bowl party at the “Wasserstein’s” this year. Disappointingly, though it featured a brief appearance by Newman, other favorites like Kramer and Elaine were nowhere to be found. In a statement, Seinfeld explained, “Fox approached (Seinfeld co-creator) Larry (David) and me about doing some kind of Seinfeld reunion for the halftime broadcast because of the New York connection. So we thought throwing Jerry, George and Newman into a Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee was a fun way to do it. Larry and I wrote the script in one sitting, just like old times, and working with him, Jason and Wayne was a total blast as it always was.” On the bright side, at least it wasn’t as bad as the series finale.
