An idea that, only a few short months ago, was enough to send Newt Gingrich’s presidential aspirations crashing to reality is now a real thing for NASA scientists, who are saying that an outpost floating on the far side of the moon is not only a possibility, but is in the plans. It’d be a sort of halfway house for moon missions, as well as missions to Mars, so it totally makes sense.
