Last night, FX announced that Donald Glover’s acclaimed show Atlanta would return for a third season in 2019. This was not a guarantee, considering Glover’s prolific year so far in the realms of music, Star Wars and—oh yeah—that awesome second season of Atlanta that ended just a few weeks ago.
“Atlanta is phenomenal, achieving and exceeding what few television series have done,” said Nick Grad, co-president of original programming for FX Networks. (h/t Uproxx)
The first season of Atlanta raked at the Emmys, scoring a pair of awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series and Outstanding Direction in a Comedy Series. The second season will surely be up for more.
Obviously, no details on the new season are here yet, including if it will have a new title or new characters. But we’ll take it this. This show rocks.
