Oscar favorite and devastating meditation on American slavery 12 Years a Slave landed in Italy this week, and it looks like the posters are doing a great job of conveying the film’s message. Obviously, Brad Pitt carries a lot of star power but, as people who’ve seen the film are aware, he’s only around for about ten minutes. Chiwetel Ejiofor, the movie’s actual star, is regulated to a small blur at the bottom of the poster. Now, on the one hand, this poster may get people who wouldn’t otherwise be interested in an important story to see the movie.
