No One Freak Out, But J.K. Rowling Is Writing the Script for a ‘Harry Potter’ Spin-Off

Good news J.K. Rowling fans—you haven’t seen the last of the wizarding world of Harry Potter. Warner Bros. has announced that the best-selling author will make her screenwriting debut with Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. The movie is inspired by the fictional Hogwarts textbook, and will be about the volume’s author Newt Scamander (very meta, we know). But, don’t expect to see too much more in terms of the original Harry Potter series story arc. As Rowling explains, “Although it will be set in the worldwide community of witches and wizards where I was so happy for seventeen years, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is neither a prequel nor a sequel to the Harry Potter series, but an extension of the wizarding world” …
