The New Single from PUP Is the Burst of Early ’00s-Inspired Rock Your Week Needs

Canadian rock band PUP do pop-punk for people who grew up in the era of Tony Hawk Pro Skater-approved bands, where the riffs are fast and crunchy but the melodies are gooey and sparkly. It’s got that punk rock snarl, but it’s not hard to imagine Kasey Musgraves doing a wispy, acoustic cover. Now, they’re back with a brand new single and new album announcement. The song is called “Robot Writes a Love Song” and the video follows just such a concept. It’s fun.

The new album is called THE UNRAVELING OF PUPTHEBAND and will drop on April 1. PUP’s been around long enough to have built a sizable fanbase but with appearances at Coachella ahead, this could be the album that really puts them on the map. Stay tuned.
