Snail Mail’s New Track ‘Madonna’ Is a Scuzzy Salute to Being Smart With How You Fall in Love

Lindsey Jordan, better known to her growing body of fans as Snail Mail, is back with another banger from her forthcoming LP Valentine. The rapidly rising indie rock star says “Madonna” is about “why love can’t exist between a person and a concept of a person.”

“Remove the pedestal and you might realize there was never anything there at all,” she continues. In other words, be careful who you fall in love with, and make sure it’s the person itself — not just your idea of them.

Savor this scuzzy rock number and get ready for the full album, out November 5.
