Emily, Jessica and Camilla Stavely-Taylor — the sisterly trio better known as The Staves — haven’t had a proper album since 2015’s excellent, Justin Vernon-produced If I Was. But nature abhors a vacuum and The Staves are back with a clutch of new songs teasing their follow-up, which will drop in February of 2021. These songs continue The Staves’ habit of quietly spellbinding little folk numbers in the tradition of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, and Simon and Garfunkel. It’s great autumn listening and will make for great winter listening next year, when Good Woman officially releases. Check out the title track above and listen to the lovely, meditative “Nazareth” below.
