Adele’s New Album ’30’ Will Drop Next Month

Hello? Can you hear me? Good, now that we have your attention: Adele’s new album is coming, so prepare yourself for heartache.

Adele has announced the release of her fourth studio, 30, will be released November 19. It’s been six years since Adele’s last album, and a lot has happened since then, in case you weren’t aware.

In a recent Instagram Live, Adele clarified her next album was about her “divorce, babe, divorce.” In a statement she released announcing the album, she referred to the last few years of her life as “the most turbulent period of [her] life.”

“I rely on routine and consistency to feel safe, I always have,” she wrote. “And yet there I was knowingly – willingly even, throwing myself into a maze of absolute mess an inner turmoil!”

“I’ve learned a lot of blistering home truths about myself along the way,” Adele continued. “I’ve shed many layers but also wrapped myself in new ones. Discovered genuinely useful and wholesome mentalities to lead with, and I feel like I’ve finally found my feeling again. I’d go as far as to say that I’ve never felt more peaceful in my life.”

She describes the album as a “ride or die” friend who helped process everything she went through. “I’ve painstakingly rebuilt me house and my heart since then and this album narrates it.”

We don’t know if the world is quite ready for an Adele divorce album. A 19-year-old Adele penned “Chasing Pavements,” so there’s no way to imagine what an older and wiser Adele could write about something as complicated and emotional as divorce.

The album won’t be out for another month, but the first single, “Easy On Me” drops this Friday so we’ll get a taste of what we can expect from 30.
