Mumford & Sons Wins Big at Grammys

Indie rock bands were the big winners at last night’s Grammy Awards, with Gotye (Record of the Year, Best Group Performance, Best Alternative Album), Fun. (Best New Artist, Song of the Year) and Mumford & Sons (Album of the Year, Best Long Form Music Video) all taking home awards in the main categories. Other notable winners included Grammy newcomer Frank Ocean for Best Urban Contemporary Album, breakout Christian hip-hop star Lecrae for Best Gospel Album and The Black Keys for Best Rock Album (you can go here for a full list of winners and here for a guide to the Grammy’s more ridiculous moments over the last 50 years). But the real story of the night was its performances—young acts including Mikky Ekko, Frank Ocean and The Lumineers, along with classic favorites like Sting, Elton John, Chuck D and Mavis Staples all took center stage for live performances throughout the ceremony. And in case there was any doubt, it was officially established that Prince is the baddest man on the planet
